David Elizondo Torres was a man of several contrasts. He had a quiet intellect but was fun to be around. He didn't wear his faith on his sleeve, but showed it in how he carried himself everyday. Although his eyes had grown blurry, and he was forced to wear glasses, he was able to see the silver lining in any situation or the good in any person. Hope was something he cherished. He was always a person who listened more than he spoke. But when he did speak, he would ask a question that would promote more conversation or he would make a comment and end it with a laugh. You would never think that he earned his living as a machinist, working with metal and other unbendable objects, because his hands were so soft and silky. Lastly, even though doctors had always told him that he wouldn't live to an old age because of damage to his heart, he showed us all that he had one of the strongest hearts by sharing his love with his wife, kids, grandchildren, family and friends. David showed us that what truly remains after our life is faith, hope, and love.
