MSgt David Andrew Troutman, age 33, from Leola Pa, went to be with the Lord on October 24, 2024.
David was born in Lancaster Pa to David & Lisa Troutman on December 2, 1990. He married Abigail Moreno Troutman on December 17, 2022 in San Antonio, Tx. They welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Sofia on February 14, 2024.
David attended high school at Conestoga Valley in Lancaster, Pa. He graduated from the University of Nebraska earning a B.S.
SFC David Troutman served in the United States Army with distinction for over 13 years, most notably as a medic in the Special Forces. His most recent assignment was at the US Army Medical Center of Excellence at Fort Sam Houston, Texas where he was a student in the Interservice Physician Assistant Program. His storied career took him to Fort Leonard Wood, MO, Ft Bliss, TX, Fort Bragg, NC, and Joint Base Lewis McCord, WA. David also completed a combat deployment to Afghanistan as a Special Forces Combat Medic in 2019-2020.
SFC Troutman received some of the most demanding and specialized training the Army has to offer. In addition to Combat Medic Advanced Individual Training, he attended Airborne School and the Freefall Parachutist Course. He then went on to complete all the rigorous stages of Special Forces Training and Special Operations Combat Medic School. His numerous awards and decorations Include: the Bronze Star Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the Army Superior Unit Award, the Army Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the Armed Forces Service Medal, the Noncommissioned Officers Professional Development Ribbon, the Army Service Ribbon, the NATO Medal, and multiple Certificates of Achievement including a Commander’s Award for Excellence. He was also awarded the following Combat and Special Skill Badges: the Special Force Tab, the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Free Fall Parachute Badge, the Parachutist Badge, the Basic Marksmanship Qual Badge - w/Carbine, and the Driver and Mechanic Badge.
David is survived by his wife Abigail Troutman and daughter Sofia Troutman, his parents David and Lisa Troutman, the family of his brother Alexander and Melanie Troutman, the family of his sister Melissa and Brandon Downing and his sisters Crystal Davis and Lauren Troutman.
Funeral services and visitation will be from 11:30 am to 2pm on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at Sunset Memorial Park and Funeral Home.
Pastor John Myers will be presiding over the service.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all friends and family who offered love, support, and comfort during this difficult time. Thank you all for being a cherished part of David’s life. Your love and thoughtfulness will forever be remembered.
