He was born November 26, 1944, in Melrose, Massachusetts, to David J. and Norma Corkum Williams. David graduated from Melrose High School and became a Texas resident in 1964. Shortly after, he met Julie Mena and they married in 1966. He attended Texas State University and served with the US Air Force as a Military Police Officer for four years.
After completing his military duty, David then worked with the Texas Department of Public Safety as a Texas State Trooper and, after 30 years of dedicated service, he retired in 2000. David's service as a State Trooper was exemplified by the way he lived his life. He would not break the "rules," as honesty was central to his character, which was recognized by those who knew him.
He also had a joy for teaching and became a substitute teacher with the Northeast Independent School District.
David was preceded in death by his father, David J. Williams, Sr. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Julie Williams; sons, Dr. Gregory Williams and wife, Roxanne, and Christopher Williams; grandchildren, Ashley and Shelby; mother, Norma Williams; sisters, Nancy Johanson and Kathy Dixon.
