Paul, my deepest sympathy to you & your family during this sad and difficult time.

I am so sorry for your loss. Dawn was truly a selfless person with a huge heart. I feel that meeting and knowing Dawn was a blessing in my life & to everyone she met, and I am greatful to have know her. Paul and family, may the Lord bless and keep you close during this time and always.

I was truly blessed to have such a wonderful friend in Dawn. Dawn always thought of others before herself. She was quick to help out others and cared deeply about her bunko buddies. Although Dawn didn't have children other than "her girls" Misty and Holly, she loved children. She tutored my daughter Ashley when she was struggling in reading and always took the time to visit with my children when she was over. Dawn was always trying to improve herself and was an inspiration to all. I was amazed at how she was able to go back to school, work full time, and also run a tupperware business all at the same time. Although I had moved I thought about you often Dawn. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. May God bless you and keep you for always.

To Paul and Dawn's family: Let me start by saying how very, very sorry I am for your loss. It is truly hard to believe. I met Dawn two years ago when I made the decision to go back to school after many years. I was so nervous, and then I met Dawn. She immediately struck up a conversation with me, and we became good friends. She, along with two other friends Rosario and Raquel became part of our study group. We supporte and encouraged one another through the frustrating and difficult class times. I also remember seeing Dawn's confidence in herself grow as the classes progressed. She became very proud of her accomplishments, and became comfortable speaking in front of a class full of students. The last time I saw Dawn was when you Paul and she came to my home at Christmas time. We shared a fun evening with friends. We laughed, played games, and enjoyed one another company. Dawn will ALWAYS be in my memory as a person who made an impact on my life. Her love for family, dedication to friends, and faith in God were strong examples for me. To the family of Dawn McCabe: I want to offer my sincerest condolences on your sudden loss. I came to know Dawn through her dear friends, Linda and Paul Javior quite a number of years ago. Though I knew Dawn through her lifelong friendship with Linda, and then later with Linda's husband, Paul, Dawn was a down to earth gal and was easy to get along with. I came to know Dawn while planning for Linda's babyshower, and I know that Dawn was very excited about the new baby which she helped care for and watch over when she could over the next seven years. I know she will be missed by the many people she has touched throughout her short lifetime. I have a poem that I would like to share. It was offered in my Grandmothers memory, but I feel it should be passed on: "I'm free, don't grieve for me, for now I'm free, a friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, Ah yes, these things I too will miss, Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish you sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full, I've savored much. Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief; Don't lengthen it now with undue grief. I was saddened to hear the news of Dawn?s passing. I will miss Dawn, but I will always smile when I think of her. We met while attending classes at San Antonio College. During our study groups, Dawn was the one encouraging the rest of the group. She was the one that always looked at the bright side of things. I met you during one of our end of semester celebrations. Watching the two of you together, I thought about how much you complimented each other and how happy you both were to be together. The happiness and love you both had is something special that many never experience. 
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. Lean on God during your time of sorrow and he will strengthen you.

I met Dawn when I joined the Knollcreek Bunco group in 1999. I moved to Houston last summer. She helped me feel a part of the neighborhood and the Bunco group. I remember seeing her walking her two dachsunds or were they walking her? around the neighborhood. I feel blessed to have known her. My prayers are with her family. It must really hurt to lose someone so special. From an ex-Bunco member, but not an ex-friend, I will miss her.

Paul, I was very saddened when I heard the news of Dawn?s passing. As you know, Dawn and I met in class at San Antonio College in the fall of 2003. During this class we formed a small study group, meeting every Sunday at Barns and Noble. Dawn was a bundle of energy, always encouraging us to do our best and believing in us when we didn?t believe we would ever pass our tests. Since then we had 3 other classes together. We often found time to study together, whether in person, online, or by phone. But the best part of each semester was at the end when we would get together for a celebratory meal. At the end of last semester, you also attended the celebration when we met at the home of a classmate. I remember how much fun we had talking, laughing, and playing board games. You and Dawn were on opposite teams. I remember watching Dawn as she watched you play. She kept smiling at you and seemed to enjoy the game more because you were so determined to win. The end of this semester will not be the same without Dawn. I will miss her and her laughter. She always had a way of putting a smile on our faces and making us see the lighter side of life. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Draw close to God and he will help you through your time of need.

I have been blessed to have the opurutinity to met Dawn when I joined the neighborhood Bunco group 5 years ago. She was a insperation to me by all the things she managed to take on in her life. She never let anything stand in her way of meeting her goals. Once again, her final goal in life was to be at peace and she achived that with Gods devine grace. May all Dawns family and friends find comfort and piece too with Gods grace during this time. I will hold Dawns friendship dear to my heart like so many others she had touched during her time here.
