

and grew up in Altus, OK. She made San Antonio her home from 1992 until
her death. Debbie , at age 58, died suddenly Monday, Oct 22, 2012 in
her home.
Debbie worked in Oklahoma City, Saint Louis, MO and San Antonio for
Southwestern Bell (now AT&t) for 30 years as a Corporate Manager in the
Finance Department. She retired in 2001.
Debbie then started a new career working part time at Blanco North
Animal Hospital, now Churchill Veterinary Clinic, which was a perfect
job for her to pursue her love of animals. Debbie loved dogs, the San
Antonio Spurs, sports, and all of her friends and family. One of her
favorite pastimes was walking her beloved dog Parker in her neighborhood
where she became friends with so many dear neighbors.
Debbie was a member of Coker United Methodist Church. She was active in
numerous volunteer efforts. She always had a friendly smile, loved
people and was a dear and loyal family member and friend. She touched
many, many lives in a very positive way. She loved her country and
considered voting both an honor and a privilege. She grew up in a
military family and always supported those who serve for our freedom and
safety.
She is survived by her mother, Dorothy LaFerney, of Austin, TX, sisters
Dottie LaFerney and her husband Derek King of Dripping Springs, TX,
Toni Neal, of Bozeman, MT, and brothers Mike LaFerney and his wife Liz,
of Midland, TX and Kenny LaFerney and his wife Pam of Oklahoma City,
OK. Others include cousins Jimmy Matheson and his wife Chris of Tulsa,
OK and Judy Davis and her husband Dennis of San Antonio,TX. Niece,
Whitney LaFerney, nephews Shelby LaFerney and Lindsey LaFerney and her
best friend Priscilla Freiberger as well as many, many dear friends,
co-workers and neighbors, and her precious pet Parker.
Debbie was preceded in death by her father, Ruel Lee LaFerney and a
sister, Linda Lee LaFerney.
