

Debbie graduated from Alamo Heights High School Class of 1972 and in 1976, she graduated with honors from the University of Texas at Austin and was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority and a UT Goodfellow. She was a member of the Junior League of San Antonio, the San Antonio Country Club, The Argyle, past Board Member of the Southwest Craft Center, and member of the Fiber Artists Guild, Battle of Flowers, The Assembly, a founding member of the Portfolio Club and past President of the Green Hand Garden Club.
Debbie was someone who excelled at everything she tried. She was a devoted wife, mother, stepmother, godmother, daughter, sister and friend. She was an accomplished artist, best known for her fabric stitcheries which were treasured by those who were fortunate enough to have one. Many of her heirloom pieces are in numerous homes throughout San Antonio, Texas and New Mexico.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Joseph King McMahon, Jr. of Denver, Colorado and San Antonio, Texas; son, Charles Osborn Biedenharn; parents, Dick and Marjie Davis of San Antonio; brother, Dick Davis and wife, Laura and their sons: Tres, Robert and Thomas of San Antonio, Texas; step-daughters: Katie and Allison McMahon of San Francisco, California; Meghan McMahon of Denver, Colorado; mother-in-law, Mary Jean McMahon of Wichita Falls, Texas; sisters-in-law: Gretchen Davis and husband, Scott of Midland, Texas, Mary Landon Edwards and husband, Tom of Norfolk, Virginia; brother-in-law, John Landon McMahon and wife, Errin of Kingwood, Texas; and her aunt, Dottie Goldsmith of Wylie, Texas and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank the ICU Nursing Staff for their kindness and care toward Debbie during her stay at Methodist Hospital.
When you were with Debbie, you stopped to smell the roses and realized that every day is a gift from God. She will be missed by many. Honorary Pallbearers will be all her many and dear friends from San Antonio and across the country.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Southwest Center for Arts and Crafts, 300 Augusta, San Antonio, TX 78205; San Antonio Academy, 117 E. French Place, San Antonio, TX 78212 and Christ Episcopal Church. Interment will be private for family.
