Debby was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world too soon on June 22, 2022 at age 66. She is survived by her husband, Kelly; three sons, Jeremy, Matthew, and Zachary; three grandchildren, Ethan (Jeremy), Lorelei (Matt), and Skyler (Jeremy) in San Antonio, as well as two brothers, Ron and Ken Smith; and sister, Micki Volkenant, in her birth place of Iowa. A life long humanitarian, she dedicated much of her life to helping those most in need, most recently through her work with the Catholic Workers House. Debby brought joy to the lives of all those lucky enough to have known her, from those closest to her, to the strangers babies, whose toes she couldnt help but squeeze with delight.In accordance with her wishes, her family will gather in private, not to mourn her loss, but to celebrate a life of true beauty. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to any charity dedicated to helping the housing insecure or fighting for human rights.
