Delia Duran Garza, 88, went to be with the Lord on July 21, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. Delia was born on November 23, 1930 to Jose and Gregoria Duran in San Antonio, Texas. She is being reunited with her husband of 53 years, Edward (Eddie) Marsch Garza Sr.; her parents; son, Anthony Patrick Garza; and daughter, Rose Marie Garza.
Delia is survived by her two sons, Edward Marsch Garza, Jr. (wife, Dalia) and Mark Alan Garza; two daughters, Delilah Garza Livingston and Delia Garza Duty; brother, Joe Duran, Jr. (wife, Beatriz); four sisters, Virginia D. Garcia, Dolores D. Davila, Dora D. Arciniega (husband, Adolph), and Anna Maria Reyna; eight grandchildren, Roxanne Marie Garza, Teresa Marie Garza, Sebastian Alan Garza, Madeleine Marie Rose Garza, Evangeline Abigail Kenze Garza, Lisa Elaine Henshaw, Sue Rexroat, and Anne Duty; six great grandchildren, Gabrielle Alexandria Schultz, Edward Anthony Mermea, Victoria Mara Henshaw, Aden Rexroat, Isabel Maria Abrego, Joshua Jesus Abrego; and three great-great grandchildren, Cody Morales, Jr., Anabel Genevieve Morales, and Ivoryana Roxanne Morales.
Delia graduated from G.W. Brackenridge High School in 1949. A few years later she married the love of her life and they began their family. Delia was a spiritual, fun loving person who loved her family dearly. She sacrificed so that her children could grow up the way she believed that they should. Delia loved animals, dancing, cooking, listening to music and most of all she loved her family.
The family will be receiving guests on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 from 5:00-8:00pm at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 24, 2019. A rosary will be recited that same evening at 7:00pm. A funeral procession will depart the Funeral Home on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at 9:30am for a 10:00am Mass at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 7893 Grissom Road. Interment will follow at San Fernando Cemetery II.
