

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved sister and aunt Delia Ortiz, who passed away on February 9, 2024, at the age of 96 with family at her side. Delia, as she was fondly known as Aunt Day, was born on July 23, 1927, in San Antonio, Texas to the late Domingo Ortiz and Candelaria Soto Ortiz.
Delia is preceded in death by her brother Luis Ortiz and sisters, Bertha Alatorre and Gloria Leos. She is survived and will be sadly missed by her siblings Rudy S. Ortiz, Mary De Leon, Anita Banda and Lorenzo S. (Norma) Ortiz.
Delia was also a loving aunt who was adored by many nieces and nephews, Bernadette (Richard) Ortiz-Grant, Lorenzo S. (Virginia) Ortiz Jr, Jose (Tammy) Alatorre, Olga Barnett, Oralia Batiz, Richard Perry Vela, Charles (David) Banda, Audrey Banda-Vazquez, Andre (Leslie) Leos, Julius Banda, Laura (Roger) Laughlin, Mona Ortiz, Marlow (Theresa) Banda, Salvadore Alatorre, Angela (Joshuah) Lawrence, Juan Domingo Ortiz, Sixta (Paul) Salas, and numerous great nieces and nephews.
We have lost a truly remarkable soul who left behind an unforgettable legacy of love and selflessness. She devoted her life to caring for her family and her loved ones. She was a blessing to her parents and siblings and a second mother to her nieces and nephews. She will always be remembered as a source of comfort, kindness, always putting the needs of others before her own while showing an unwavering faith in God.
When Delia wasn't caring for others, she enjoyed traveling and exploring the world with her sisters. From Mexico where she cherished her visits with family to the excitement of Las Vegas and the beauty of Europe. She embraced every journey with a spirit of adventure and an opportunity to create lasting memories.
Delia found joy in simple pleasures and faced life's challenges with faith, grace and courage. Her spirit will continue to inspire us all. Though she is no longer with us, her love will live on in our hearts forever ♥️

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am Friday, February 23, 2024, at Porter Loring Mortuary.
FUNERAL SERVICEFRIDAY, FEBRUARY 23, 202411:00 AMPORTER LORING CHAPEL
Interment will follow in San Fernando Cemetery II. Pallbearers (Honorary Pallbearers) will be Jose Alatorre, Salvadore Alatorre, Andre Leos, Marlow Banda, Gabriel Omar Batiz, and Steven Campos.
