Dellaretta J. Henderson

For 36 years, she worked for Civil Service retiring from Brook Army Medical Center where she was a member of the Executive Secretaries.

During a break from government service, she assisted her late husband, George Henderson, in an office supply business located at North Star Mall for several years.

She was a devout member of First Baptist Church for more than 50 years being active in WMU and taught Bible School to children for many years.

Della is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Palace Jones; beloved husband, George Henderson; sister, Martha D. Jones; brother, Wayne Jones and step-son, Bruce A. Henderson.

She is survived by her brother: B. L. Jones of Baton Rouge, LA; step-daughter, Joyce Trappe and husband, George of Helotes, Texas; step-daughter-in-law, Patsy Henderson of Omak, Washington; niece, Martha Jo Byrd and husband, Jesse of Tomball, Texas; six grandchildren, several great grandchildren and by extended family and numerous devoted friends.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 27, 2010 from 4:00-6:00 P.M. at Porter Loring Mortuary on McCullough.
