

Dee was born on February 27, 1939, in Richland Center, Wisconsin, to Fidelis and Maureta Jansen. The second child of six siblings, she was raised in rural Wisconsin, where she worked on her family’s farm and attended school. As a young woman, she traveled the world as a military spouse before ultimately settling her family in San Antonio. While she saw much of the globe, her greatest joy always remained close to home. Dee’s devotion to her children was the hallmark of her life. She was a constant, cheering presence at every baseball game, band performance, and volleyball match, never missing a single moment. She will be remembered for her resiliency, unwavering kindness, and dedication to her family.
Dee is preceded in death by her parents, Fidelis and Maureta Jansen; her sisters, Diane and Donna; her sister-in-law, Dorothy; and her son-in-law, Tom.
Dee is survived by her children, Jeff (Dawn), Debbie, and Tammy. She is also survived by her brothers, Deane and David (Henrietta), and her sister, Dawny (Tom). She was the cherished grandmother of Jeffrey, Tyler, Freddie, Melanie, Breanna, Reid, and Sean, as well as four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, TX 78218, on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, from 10:00-10:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Service at the same location from 10:30-11:30 a.m. A Committal Service will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
