Denise Anne Warton Blackmer

Denise Anne Blackmer, 71, passed away on February 10th, 2025. She was born in Mason City, IA on June 4th, 1953 to Audrey and Howard Simpson. Her mother remarried to John Warton when Denise was 10 years old.

Denise relocated to San Antonio in 1975. She met Mark in 1976 and they dated for 7 years until they married in August of 1983. In the course of their 41-year marriage, Denise and Mark did foster care – eventually adopting their two sons, Victor (Shoshana) and John. They are blessed with three beautiful Grandchildren: Sara (6), Athena (5) and Oliver (3)

In the course of her life, Denise worked for Paul Anderson Company from 1975 to 1989, KCI, and Bank of America from 1999 to 2017, where she was chairman of Team BOA Community Volunteers in 2006 and 2007. While with Bank of America, Denise enjoyed being a bank representative to the local Executive Women International, becoming chapter president in 2015 and 2016 and making many professional and personal contacts along the way.

After retirement, Denise became involved with Boysville of San Antonio, joining the Boysville Auxiliary, becoming Vice-President in 2024. She loved her work with the Auxiliary and Boysville Auxiliary Thrift Store and, as always, made many friends along the way. 

Denise's funeral services will be held on Friday, March 14th at 10:00 AM at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, located at 8134 Blanco Rd , San Antonio, TX.
