He was born in Austin, TX on May 27, 1958 to Archie and Bea Brown.
He was proceeded in death by his father Archie Brown, mother Bea Brown and sister Kimberly Brown.
He survived by his wife Kelly Kirby Brown of 14 years and his precious dog Willie.
Master Sergeant Dennis A. Brown enlisted in the United States Air Force in August 1976 to endure Basic Military Training at Lackland AFB, Texas. He attended technical school at Kesler AFB, Mississippi. Upon graduation, received his first permanent duty assignment to the 35th FTW, George AFB, California. In July 1979, as reassigned to the 51st EMS Osan AB, Korea.
Sgt Brown joined the Civil Engineering Family through cross training and reassigned to 12th AF Headquarters, Bergstrom AFB, Texas in June of 1982. He worked as a draftsman/surveyor until reassignment to Kusan AB, Korea in 1984 to be NCOIC of the Design Support Flight. In September 1985, Sgt Brown joined the Laughlin AFB and Del Rio, Texas Community.
He proceeded to make his mark on Laughlin. His first projects included the inspection for the Officer’s Training Complex, reroofing Family Housing, repaving Laughlin streets and taxiways, renovating exteriors of Wing Headquarters, Base Operations, both Officers and Enlisted Clubs, Border Federal Credit Union and the Base Gym. He ensured the timely completion of the Community Center, Fitness Center, Training Center and Building 210. SGT Brown in 1993, became a project manager and designed, estimated, negotiated, and inspected various building at Laughlin.
MSgt Brown earned many commendations from the Air Force over his 20 years of service. He graduated from the Community College of the Air Force with an Associate, Applied Science of Engineering Technology Degree.
He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was also an active member of Construction Manager Certificate Institute.
Austin has held many positions since retirement from the United States Aire Force. Most recently, completing a project with BE&K at Tarleton State University. Another position allowed him to build two
high rise hotels. With TEPA, he completed several projects at Lackland AFB, earning the company many safety awards.
Austin will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
The family will have a Graveside service in honor of Dennis A. Brown on June 22, 2021 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery (1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209) beginning at 9:45 AM in Shelter 4.
