Dennis W. Griffin Sr., age 75, born in Weslaco, TX on October 8, 1926, died Sunday, March 10, 2002. Mrs. Griffin graduated from Weslaco High School in 1945. He entered the Merchant Marines and then the Army. He attended Southwest Texas University in 1947, where he earned a Bachelor and a Masters Degree. He married Ruby Holton in June 9, 1951. He and his family moved to San Antonio in 1955, where he worked in radio and television advertising until his retirement in 1995. He was an elder at Beacon Hill Presbyterian Church for many years. Mr. Griffin was on the advisory council for the Communications department at Texas Tech University, and the Chairman of YMCA Board. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Griffin; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Jim McCann; daughter, Kay Griffin; son, Dennis Griffin, Jr; and grandsons, James and Ryan McCann.
