

Dennis Ullrich, 73, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2016, in San Antonio. A lifelong resident of San Antonio, he was born on December 28, 1942 to Alton and Bessie Ullrich. Dennis graduated from Brackenridge High School, where he was editor of the Retama yearbook. He was a proud veteran retiring as CMSgt of the U.S. Air Force Reserves. He also worked for civil service for 40 years. He was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church for 38 years before joining Holy Trinity. Dennis was a member of the Geological Society, was a 3rd and 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus, and belonged to The Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem. He was active with the Belgian American Folk Dance Group, a member of Germania Farmer Verein (Anhalt) and Past Grand Commander of the Alhambra Bejar Caravan No. 56. Dennis and Joyce were sponsors and mentors of a seminarian student through the Catholic Daughter's Assumption Seminary Program. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law Margie Yanta; brother-in-law Marshall Verstraeten, brother-in-law Jerry Verstraeten. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Joyce Ullrich; a sister, Gloria Kreusler and husband Melvin; 4 brothers-in-law, Richard Verstraeten and wife Patricia, Frank Verstraeten, Henry Verstraeten and wife Karen; and Edwin Yanta; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
