Survived by: mother, Dolores Revels; stepfather, Jerry H. Revels, III; father, Donald S. Garza and wife, Irma; brothers, Mark Anthony Silva, Jerry H. Revels, IV and Donald Garza, II; sister, Macy E. Kendricks.
Derek attended Bandera High School until December of 2005. He was working part-time and continuing his high school and was scheduled to graduate from Excel Academy in the fall of 2006.
Derek had made inquiries and was interested in continuing his education at Northwest Vista College, after receiving his High School Diploma.
Derek enjoyed playing his Spanish guitar, skate boarding and playing with his pets, Spencer, Kujo and Roady.
He especially enjoyed the time he spent with close friends. Derek will be sorely missed and will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. We are greatly saddened by this loss and ask for prayers and uplifting thoughts from everyone, as he is now an Angel in Heaven.
