Diane Imvises Kostick, fondly known as Diane to her friends and family, passed away peacefully of natural causes on July 29, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 76. Born on June 18, 1949, in Pak Chong, Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, Diane's journey led her far from her birthplace to a life full of love, family, and joy.
Diane's life was a testament to her loving, kind, and selfless nature. She was the beloved wife of retired MSgt USAF and Retired GS-13, DAF, David Allen Kostick. Together, they built a life characterized by mutual respect, devotion, and commitment. Diane was a cherished mother to her son, Sean Ray Kostick of San Antonio, TX, and her daughter, Melissa Ann (Kostick) Gonzales (Edmund). Her role as a grandmother to Miranda Kaydance Gonzales and Bethinee Madysun Gonzales was one of her greatest joys, and she embraced every moment with her granddaughters with enthusiasm and love.
Though Diane's primary education was in Thailand, her wisdom and understanding of the world around her were profound. Her career as a housewife was a role she held dear, nurturing her family with every ounce of her being. Diane's spiritual beliefs guided her through life's challenges and triumphs, providing a foundation of strength and peace for herself and those she loved. Diane became a United States citizen in May 1976 during the bicentennial year. She was extremely proud of her citizenship and being an American was one of the highlights of her life.
Diane's interests were as vibrant and varied as her personality. She had an unwavering love for music concerts, live shows at amusement parks, and television. But perhaps, her most cherished pastime was indulging in word find puzzles, a simple pleasure that brought her immense satisfaction and a sense of accomplishment.
Her brother-in-law, John Paul Buco of Somerset, NJ, fondly recalls Diane's warmth and the light she brought into the lives of her family. Although distance and time had led to lost contact with her eight sisters and four brothers in Thailand, Diane always held them in her heart, hoping they were surrounded by the same love and happiness she found in her life.
Diane's legacy extends beyond her immediate family, with many relations through marriage in Pennsylvania, California, Washington, Maryland, and Florida, all of whom felt the gentle touch of her kindness and generosity.
As we bid farewell to Diane, we remember a life lived with purpose and grace, a life that touched so many others in the most profound ways. Her spirit, a beacon of love and selflessness, will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her. Diane Imvises Kostick will be deeply missed, but the memories she created will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration. Her journey on this earth has ended, but her story will continue to be told by those who loved her most.
