

Diane Bryant Lampe, passed away on January 24, 2025, surrounded by her family. A gracious and vibrant woman, she will be remembered for her kindness, strength and exceptional generosity. Diane was born January 3, 1944, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Carl and Evelyn Bryant. At the age of five, she moved with her family to San Antonio, where she would spend most of her life.
After graduating from Jefferson High School in 1962, she studied at Southern Methodist University and Methodist Hospital of Dallas School of Nursing, earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas Health Science Center. Diane was dedicated to healthcare and held various roles throughout her 40 year career. She was a school nurse for the San Antonio Independent School District and later in neuro trauma care at Christus Santa Rosa Hospital. She spent much of her career at HealthSouth RIOSA Rehabilitation Hospital, where she served as Director of Nursing, Assistant Director for Patient Care, and CEO before retiring in 2006. Diane also served her community as an active member of the Greater San Antonio Hospital Council.
In 1990, Diane met the love of her life Charles Lampe. They were married in April 1991 and built a wonderful life for the next 34 years. Diane was a loving and proud mother to her sons, as well as devoted grandmother and great grandmother (for which she earned the nickname G.G.). She could always be found at any dance recital, graduation or sports event in which her grandchildren participated.
In her spare time, Diane enjoyed art and was skilled in crafts and interior design. She was also known for her warmth and hospitality, always happy to host friends and family in her beautiful home. Diane’s faith was a central part of her life, and she was a longtime member of University Methodist Church.
She was a beautiful soul whose grace and compassion impacted so many lives in major ways. She lived for her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband Charles; sons Chris (Jeanette) Logan, Aaron (Carrie) Logan and Michael (Lisa) Lampe; brother Jeff Bryant; sisters Linda (Ron) Hubbard, Nan Jenner-Bryant and Barbara Bryant. She is also survived by grandchildren Rheannon (Charlie) Harris, Hannah Anderson, Candace Ziegenfuss, Samantha Perry, Brennan and Ashleigh Logan and great grandchildren Brandt Garcia, Arabella Wynans, Zoe Ziegenfuss, Logan Kalantari, Ealey Harris and Evan Alvarado as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews.
The family expresses their gratitude to the staff at Christus Santa Rosa Westover Hills for the loving care they showed Diane during her final weeks.
