Dixie lived a life shaped by culture and beauty in every sense of the word. She had an eye for detail and a way of turning the ordinary into something special — an artist not just in what she created, but in how she lived, loved, entertained, and brought people together. She was quick with a joke and always ready to laugh, bringing warmth and humor to those around her.
She had a true talent for cooking and was a gourmet chef in her own kitchen who delighted in creating special dishes for family and friends. For Dixie, cooking was more than preparing food — it was one of the many ways she expressed her love.
Her love of holidays showed in how she decorated her home, creating a warm, festive atmosphere for every celebration. As a gracious host, she took great pleasure in entertaining and making others feel at home.
Dixie embraced the life of an Army wife, standing beside her husband and family through the challenges and changes of military life while becoming a source of friendship and support for other Army wives. She understood its unique demands and was always willing to lend a hand, offer encouragement, or simply be there when someone needed her.
Family was at the heart of everything Dixie did. She built a life filled with traditions, celebrations, good food, laughter, and love — memories that will be treasured for years to come.
She is preceded in death by her parents. Dixie is survived by her beloved husband, COL Harvey D. Watson III, PhD; daughters, Shannon Donaldson (Lee) and Auburn (Jeremy); grandchildren, Hailey, Connor, Morgan, Olivia, Nicholas, Weston and Savanna.
