I am glad I got to see both your parents about a year and a half ago. Although your family is distantly related to ours, You lived so close to us that you seemed like first cousins. It doesn't seem that long ago that we were over your house to play, but alas that was more than 30 years ago. Of course then I had the point of view of a kid. I remember one particular day when I was up in Susan's room and we were listening to the Bee Gee's and then we came down for refreshments that your mom had been busy making while we were playing. Now that I am a mom, I can see it from an adult view and see that you were blessed with a wonderful upbringing with two great people who loved you both very much. As children it is easy to take that for granted. It is because of all of that love that you both have so much to give. I think that your mom was probably very proud of the women you became.'

Your mother always was a wonderful,caring, and upbeat neighbor. Her sunny disposition will be missed by us. It was always heart warming to see your parents taking their stroll through the neighborhood and were a model for a loving relationship.
We will always remember your parents providing counsel to our boys during the college application process. They were especially pleased when our sons were interested in applying to Wisconsin and took it good heartedly when they decided not to attend. They were very reassuring to all of us, struggling with the issues of parenthood, that we too would be as successful as they raising two caring, loving, and dedicated daughters.'

'We were saddened to hear of Dolly's passing. She was always kind to me and a good friend of my mother's. I'll never forget Susan giving me a sympathy card when my father passed away in 1971. 'I had the pleasure of taking care of Dolly on Sunday 9/9/07 at Homewood Residence while working with Odyssey Hospice of San Antonio. Even though I was only with you all one day, I really could see what a loving and exrremely caring family she had. Her loving husband never left her side, as well as Susan, Laurie and Brad. It is rare these days to see family members who take such pride in caring for their elderly parents. There was such love and respect in the room all day. Your stories were precious, funny and sad and I'm sure she appreciated hearing them in her last hours. Thank you for allowing me to take part in her life and eventual passing. Also, there was a family friend a retired ENT physician who was so wonderful with the family and Dolly. She was a joy to be around and work with.'
