Dolores Cardenas

Dolores Cardenas, age 86, passed on March 13, 2026. Born November 02, 1939, she was a resident of San Antonio, Texas. She was a beloved daughter of Ascencio Romero and Maria De Jesus Aranda. She was a loving grandmother.

Dolores loved to bake cook, fish, and worked as a Public Servant, Health Department Nutritionist, a proud crossing guard and bus assistant.

She will be remembered by her children, Sandra Vega, Cynthia Montez, Mary Gloria Cardenas, George R. Cardenas Jr., Eddie Cardenas, Jimmy Cardenas; her siblings, Alicia Torres; her grandchildren, George Jr., Shelia, Victor, Pamela, Rocky, Jesse Cardenas Jr., Irma Linda, Jesse James, Sharon, Jessica, Rueben, Judyann, Laura, Vincent, Edward Jr., Tracy, Leeann, Gabriella, Kimberly, Alex Jr., Tina, Valerie, Anthony, Joseph, Briana, Jimmy Jr., Nova, Jaida, Robert Jr., Angel, Niki, Cheyenne; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, George Cardenas; daughter, Deborah Tovar; her sons, Jesse Cardenas and Alejandro Cardenas; her siblings; Estela Chavez, Oscar Romero, Ruben Romero, Angie Ramirez, Gloria Silva, Ernesto Romero, Blanca Bueno, Ascension Romero Jr., Rito Romero; her grandsons, Adam Puente, Brian Cardenas and Richard Cardenas.

Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237, on March 25, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm, with a Rosary at 7:00 pm.

A Processional will depart from the funeral home at 10:00 am for A Mass of the Resurrection that will be celebrated at St. Jude Catholic Church, 130 S San Augustine Ave, San Antonio, TX 78237, on March 26, 2026, at 10:30 am, followed by Committal at San Fernando Cemetery II, 746 Castroville Rd, San Antonio, TX 78237.
