Dolores Mae Neumann passed away in San Antonio on Friday, August 11, 2006. She was born in Fayette Co., Texas on January 29, 1928, and moved to San Antonio in 1940. She married Wilton L. Neumann on October 16, 1946. She retired as Communications Supervisor after 26 years with NEISD.
She was a loving wife and mother who gave generously of her time to others. In 2000 she and Wilton were honored with the Governor's Volunteer Award for Family for their work in a gleaning program. Throughout her life, she was active in church functions, most recently heading the Caregiving Ministry at Stone Oak.
She is survived by Wilton, her husband of almost 60 years; her son, Dr. Karl F. Neumann and daughter-in-law, Dixie L. Neumann; grandchildren, Heather Jackson and husband, Scott, and Matthew Neumann; and great-grandchild, Cora Jackson. Also survived by her sisters, Gussie-Mae Dean, and Anna Belle Green; and brother, Percy Giese. A steadfast source of warmth, inspiration and love to all who knew her, she will be missed by the many people whose lives and hearts she touched.
