A devout Catholic, she had a passion for assisting the less fortunate and spent her life supporting a variety of charities and organizations in need. Amongst a civil servant, she was a teacher's aide and volunteered selflessly within her religious communities. Dolores enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, was an avid reader, loved gardening and music and spent time travelling to various parts of the world. She was a wonderful cook and looked forward to bringing her family together for a great meal. Taking care of her family was her priority, and she will be dearly missed by those she loved.
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, Adrian Zeferino Ortega and Enriqueta Guerrero Ortega; brothers, Fernando, Ricardo and Gilberto Ortega.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Alexander Peña; son, Alexander E. Peña, Jr.; daughter, Laura P. Guillen (Antonio); son, Carlos S. Peña (Thelma); son, Anthony J. Peña (Pamela); grandchildren, Christopher S. Peña, Alexander E. Peña III, Nicholas A. Guillen, Lauren A. Guillen, Marlo Celeste Peña, Carlos Rene Peña, Amanda Christine Torres, David Anthony Peña; great-granddaughter, Aleyah Marie Peña; sisters: Anita Mora, Susie Ortega, Irene Hernandez (Pete); numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
