Born on September 7, 1945, to Solomon and Mary Ramos, Dolores grew up with a passion for creativity and learning. She found joy in decorating, sewing, and knitting—arts she practiced with care and heart.
She had a deep fondness for mariachi music, mystery novels, and detective stories, often spending quiet hours wrapped in a good book or immersed in episodes of Law and Order.
Dolores attended St. Mary’s University where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education and later obtained her Master’s Degree in Reading from Our Lady of the Lake University. She had a natural gift for teaching, and one of her greatest joys was helping children learn to read—nurturing their curiosity with patience and care. Dolores served as an educator for over 40 years. Her greatest passion was teaching, but her love of children was also evident as she became a foster parent to children in need of a temporary loving home.
In her spare time, Dolores was also a small business owner of a feed store and several rental properties. As a people lover, she did well in sales of products such as Avon, Mary Kay, and Home Interior. In her later years, Dolores obtained her real estate license, a testament to her determination and ambition.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Solomon and Mary Ramos, and her brother, John. She is survived by her cherished children: Daniella Torres, Jose R. Torres, and Pedro Torres (Lyric); her beloved grandchildren: Jose Enrique Torres, Catalina Abigail Torres, and Leonardo “Leo” Torres; and her devoted siblings: Roy Ramos and Dora Sauseda.
Dolores will be remembered for her unwavering love, her gentle humor, her creativity, and the many ways she nurtured the hearts and minds of others. Her legacy lives on in the family she so deeply loved and the countless lives she touched.
