

Dominick "Al" Maurice, 93, of San Antonio, Texas, long-time resident of Fairview, New Jersey, 1941 Cliffside Park High School graduate and Navy Veteran of World War II, passed away on August 27, 2016. Al served and received commendations for participation in the European, African, Middle Eastern and Asiatic-Pacific theaters while serving on the USS Quincy; which also had the distinction of carrying President Roosevelt to and from the Yalta Conference to conclude WW II.
After the war, he served on the Fairview Police Department and was honored for his meritorious service. Al retired in 1984 as Captain of Detectives.
Al is survived by, Lillian nee Cardullo, beloved wife of more than 70 years, and by children, Alfred (wife, Linda) of Mahwah, New Jersey, Donna Hoffman (husband, Glenn) of Midland Park, New Jersey, and Leila Dini (husband, John) of San Antonio, Texas; by grandchildren, Mark and Michael (wife, Josephine) Maurice, Daniel and John Dini and great grand-daughter, Aemilia Maurice.
He will be interred with full Military Honors at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas on September 16, 2016 at 10:30 a.m.
