

Don Wyman, 69, of San Antonio unexpectedly passed away at his home on October 21, 2022. He was born in Hartland, Maine on December 24, 1952. Don graduated from Nokomis Regional High School in Newport, Maine in 1971. After a year of vocational school, studying electronics, he joined the Army. It seemed like a good idea, as he had never lived anywhere south of Massachusetts.
Don had basic training at Fort Dix, New Jersey, and then went on to continue his training at Scofield Barracks, Hawaii (21st Infantry Division). It was in Hawaii he married Melody (Plant) on November 26, 1973. Together they traveled and lived all over the world. He retired as Sargent First Class in March of 1996 from Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
After military service, Don worked at EB Electronics, followed by employment at Daymon & Associates, concluding with his last 10 years of work in civil service at Fort Sam Houston Emergency Operations Center, retiring in 2015.
Don was very proud that he had been able to continue his education and get an Associate Science Degree in General Education from Gadsden State Junior College, Alabama in 1982. Also a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management from the University of Maryland, European Division, Heidelberg, Germany in 1993, while he was still on active duty and going on many deployments.
Don was proceeded in death by his mother, Laura Harris (2004) and his step-father, Sherman Harris (2013).
Don is survived by his wife, Melody; son, Erik Wyman of Dallas, TX; son, Joe Wyman and wife, Jennifer, of Gentry, AR; son, Ross Wyman and wife, Alishia, of Odessa, TX; along with his 10 grandchildren- Zane, Zoie, Brock, Zavior, Abigail, Ava, Adilynn, Emery, Avery, and Tyler.
Don meant so much to his family and friends. He will be remembered as a special, kind, humorous man, who was great at storytelling and making us laugh.
Graveside Services will be held at 10:15 am, November 21, 2022, at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery-Shelter 2, with a reception and refreshments at Sunset Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 1130-1:30.
