

He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will long be remembered for his sense of humor, his love of music, and the contributions he made to Habitat for Humanity.
He was born in Washington, D.C., on June 12, 1937. Don greeted each day with a joie de vivre and was truly one of those rare individuals who enjoyed the moment and joys of each new day. Don received a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas Tech and a Masters of Business Administration and a Masters in Mathematics from the University of Texas.
He entered the military as the distinguished military graduate from Texas Tech and was commissioned as a regular officer in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. His overseas assignments included Korea, Vietnam, and two tours in Germany.
Upon his retirement in 1984, he was serving as the equal opportunity officer at Ft. Bliss, Texas. Don's varied interests include his love of church, music, and Habitat for Humanity. He sang in church choirs for more than forty years; he loved opera, and in his later years, he enjoyed performing in community theater in El Paso.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Hazel McMurray and his brother, Hadyn.
He is survived by his wife, Judy, of San Antonio; son, Bradford McMurray and family, Lou Ann, Calli, Emme, and Erin of Schertz, Texas; daughter, Amber Kitchen and grandson, Nathaniel Kitchen of Arlington, Texas; sister, Marilyn McMurray Rishell and her husband, Lyle of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania; his sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Bob Zeigler of San Antonio; two step-sons, Chris Jumper of Denver, Colorado and Jeffrey Jumper of San Antonio. Additional family members include Todd Zeigler, Sara Zeigler and Rebecca Rodriguez.
He will be greatly missed by both family and friends.
