Donald proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 27 years, dedicating much of his life to the service of his nation. His military career was a testament to his commitment and patriotism. In his retirement, he enjoyed many activities including woodworking, photography, painting, kite flying, drawing, fishing, baking, traveling and sharing his stories with family and friends.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and William Nichols, as well as his sisters, Barbara Young, Carolyn Dorman and Judith Williams. He is survived by his many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his family and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025, at 9:30 A.M. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. Military honors will be rendered at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Central Texas Veterans Health Care System or Crossroads Baptist Church in Donald’s memory.
