Dorice Nell Staudt

Dorice Nell Staudt, age 90, died peacefully in Bulverde, TX, on Saturday, March 11, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in San Antonio, TX, to parents, Edward and Elsa Schelcher. She graduated a proud "Honey Bear" from Edison High School, began working at USAA, married Charles in 1954, and started a family. Dorice loved outdoor activities, birds, fishing, tennis, and tending large vegetable gardens and flower beds. She took pride in fresh food she prepared and was the best cook any of us have ever known. Most of all, Dorice loved people and spending time with them - especially family. When she was with you, she was always positive, enthusiastic, and made you feel loved. She was the most selfless, loving person we have ever known.

Dorice was preceded in death by her husband, Charles J. Staudt; sister, Katherine Finch; great-grandson, Alexander Forster; and great-granddaughter, Amelia Forster. She is survived by Charles "Eddie" Staudt (Peggy), Diane Ramsey (James), and David Staudt; grandchildren, Jeremy Forster (Elizabeth), Brandon Forster (Jacqueline), Shannon Stockbridge (Dewey - deceased), and JC Staudt; great-grandchildren, Peter, Catherine, and Edward Forster, Jameson and London Stockbridge, and Orion Forster.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Nathan Schumway, and Bob and Nikki of Harbour Hospice for their loving care of Dorice. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice.
