Doris graduated from Brackenridge High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from Our Lady of the Lake University. She dedicated over 30 years of her life teaching, shaping young minds and making lasting impact on countless children.
In 1954, Doris married the love of her life, Gilbert Lujan. Together, they raised four children and built a home grounded in faith, love and family. Doris was a devoted Catholic whose life was anchored in prayer. She faithfully prayed the Rosary and had a deep love for the Blessed Virgin Mary, who she turned to for strength and guidance.
Doris was hardworking and determined. She was known for her kindness and gentle spirit. She was so sweet, always thoughtful, always loving. Her warmth touched everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Lucio and Irene Gonzales; her son, Gilbert “Sonny” Lujan; and her six brothers.
Doris is survived by her husband of 70 years, Gilbert Lujan; her daughters, Cindy (Frank), Diane (Manuel), and Patty (Roland); seven grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.
The family will receive guests beginning at 6:00 PM on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Porter Loring Mortuary North with a rosary to begin at 7:00 PM. A procession will depart Porter Loring Mortuary North at 10:00 AM on Friday, June 27, 2025, for Mass at 10:30 am at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church. Interment will immediately follow at San Fernando Cemetery II.

Her legacy lives on in all who continue to show kindness, compassion and peace – just as Doris did everyday of her life. Her unwavering faith, tireless dedication, and deep devotion to her family will continue to inspire her family for generations to come.
