Doris D. Walker

Doris D. Walker was born in San Antonio, TX on December 23, 1930 to Frank and Louise (Carpenter) Hitchings and entered eternal rest on October 21, 2014 in San Antonio, after a 30 year battle with ALS. Doris was a strong, loving, caring, forgiving person. Her world revolved around her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her husband, R.C. Walker and her brother, Frank Hitchings. She is survived by her children, Debbie McHorse (Jay), Jeanie Lively (Jerry), Richard Shults (Kathy), Raymona Fox (Don); grandchildren, Brandy Shannon (Rusty), Amber Lively (Steven Winkler), Tiffany Wilson (Brandon), Lindsey McHorse, Casey Shults (Mandy), Lacy Boatwright (Doug), Derrick Mucha (Amanda), David Mucha (Kathy), Kris Mucha (Marcella), Randy Slaughter, Dale Slaughter ; 10 great-grandchildren; and her sister and brother, Vida Thompson; Clarence Hitchings.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 26, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home. A celebration of her life will be at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, October 27, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Mission Burial Park South..
