Dorothy Anderson

Dorothy Partlow Anderson, age 93 went to be with the Lord on June 29, 2014 in Boerne, TX. She was born on September 1, 1920 in Clarendon, AR to Leo & Rose (Mayo) Partlow. After retiring from the Office of Special Investigations at Sheppard Air Force Base, she traveled around the world with her husband, a global oil refining processes expert. Her love for her Savior Jesus Christ was always evident, and she loved studying the Bible and singing in the choir. Till the end she graciously thanked her nurses and her family and was more concerned for others than herself. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Van Goff Anderson.

She is survived by her 3 children, James Leo Anderson & wife Jimmie Joyce, Vaneda Jean Shields & husband Larry and Elizabeth Rose Anderson McGinty; 8 grandchildren, Sean McGinty, Michael Shields, Lance McGinty, deAnna Haun, Miranda Swenson, Summer Bell, Josh Shields and Ty Anderson; 9 great-grandchildren, Kaitlin Shields, Megan Shields, Thomas Shields, Jacob Shields, Ben Shields, Myles McGinty, Mason McGinty, Alexis McGinty, and Brooke Bell; and her beloved sister Honor Jean Thompson’s 2 sons, Jay Merrick and William Thompson.

Visitation will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with the Funeral Service to follow at 3:00 p.m. Interment will continue at Sunset Memorial Park. Condolences may be offered at www.sunsetfuneralhomesa.com.
