Dorothy Harrris Coe

Dorothy June Coe passed into her Lord’s loving arms on October 27, 2011 at the age of 81. Dorothy was born on June 10, 1930, in Garden City, TX to Marvin H. Harris and Donie Byerley Harris. She received her B. S. and M. A. degrees from Angelo State University. Dorothy was a teacher in the San Angelo I.S.D. and the Tom Green County Schools for 28 years. She moved to San Antonio in 1985 where she was soon diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. After receiving the Whipple procedure, she survived for 6 ½ years. Dorothy was a beloved mother and grandmother who will always be loved, remembered and missed. She attended Community Bible Church. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Orville Harris and Hubert Harris. Survivors include her daughters and their husbands, Deborah and Charlie Ravenburg of Corpus Christi, TX and Karan and Buck Wroten of San Antonio, TX; granddaughter and her husband, Ashley and Jim McDonnell of Vienna, Austria; sister and her husband, Mary and Bob Collinge of San Antonio, TX. A private funeral service was held at Sunset Funeral Home. The family requests memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
