Dorothy Hyatt Davis

Dorothy Hyatt Davis, surrounded by her family, passed from this life on December 8, 2014. While we mourn the loss of her loving presence in our lives we rejoice that she is beyond all suffering and we will keep her in our hearts forever.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Julian Walker Davis; her parents, Dora Fox Hyatt and Raymond Columbus Hyatt and her brother, R. C. Hyatt, Jr. She is survived by her son, Larry Davis and his partner, Margaret Mooney of Santa Fe, New Mexico; her grandson, Steven Davis and his wife, Lara of Dallas, Texas and her sister, Ila Buchanan and her husband, Buck of Marshall, Texas.

She is also survived by her special family friends Ben and Lisa Reed of San Antonio, and their sons, Lance Reed and his wife, Amber of Ft. Worth and Adam Reed and his wife, Krista of San Antonio. Also left to cherish her memory are her nieces, nephews and many beloved friends.

An elegant, gracious, loving lady, Dorothy gave us a final life lesson with her courage, grace and dignity as she faced her many health challenges. She never lost her smile or her concern for everyone else.

We wish to express heartfelt thanks to the wonderful and caring nurses, therapists and aides who cared for her during her long stay at the Heights on Huebner. Our thanks also go the kind and supportive folks from Gentiva Hospice.

A celebration of Dorothy's remarkable life will be scheduled for the coming year in San Antonio.
