Dorothy Jean Jolly

Dorothy C. Jolly, 92, passed away on July 29, 2015. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend; and will be greatly missed. She was born in San Antonio, Texas on December 27, 1922 to Mathilda and Otis Caruthers. She graduated from Brackenridge High School in 1941. She was well known at Joske’s of Texas where she spent many years employed as a comptroller until her retirement from Joske’s in 1975. She was an active member of Eastwood Christian Church and Thousand Oaks Christian Church for many years.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 53 years, James T. Jolly. She is survived by her sister, Betty Hill, and husband, Ray Hill of Memphis, Tennessee; daughter, Priscilla Jolly; daughter, Karen Bernhardt and husband, Richard: granddaughter, Michelle Portis and husband, Monty; great-grandchildren, Corban and Payton Portis; nieces, Linda Saunders and Sandra Frazier and husband, Thomas of Memphis, Tennessee.

Visitation will be Monday, August 3, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Sunset Memorial Park.
