No matter where grandma went or what she did she always made friends and people always smiled and talked about how beautiful and pleasant she was though she suffered physical pain tragic losses it never got her down she just kept standing tall and continued to go on she was one of the strongest people I’ve ever met on this entire planet. Dorothy was an outstanding volunteer in her community with an organization called SCOOP Southeast Community Outreach for Older People and also she was a 25 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Harlandale Chapter #750.
A poem by (H. M. Reasoner)
Many friends that travelled with me
reached Heaven's portal long ago;
one by one they left me battling
with the dark and crafty foe.
They are watching at the portal,
they are waiting at the door;
waiting only for my coming -
The beloved ones gone before.
