Dorothy G Ramos

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Dorothy G. Ramos, who entered eternal rest on August 5, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Miguel Gamboa and Anita Gamboa, her sisters, Marylou Heitkamp and Corina Huron; her brother, Pedro Gamboa; her nieces, Michelle Honesto and Rose Solalinde; her nephews, Pete Honesto Jr., Paul Honesto, Edward Huron, and William Heitkamp, as well as her cherished lifelong friend, Joyce DeWitt.

She leaves behind a loving family who will forever treasure her memory: her children, Laura Ramos and husband David Perez, Nancy Ramos, and Ruben Ramos and wife Aleja Casas.

Dorothy was a proud and devoted grandmother to Dominique Ramos, Serenity Perez, David Perez Jr., Daniel Perez, Jared Ramos and wife Courtney Earnest, Skyelyn Ramos, Anton Tyser, Samara Ramos, and Mariana Casas. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy: Ayva Ramos, Josiah Ramos, Nova Ramos, Enrique Garcia V, and Daniel Perez Jr.

She is also survived by many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply.

Dorothy embraced life with warmth, laughter, and a generous heart. In her younger years, she loved to dance. She always enjoyed celebrating the holidays with those she loved. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren, whom she cherished beyond measure. She was a loyal fan of the San Antonio Spurs and the Dallas Cowboys, and she rarely missed an episode of General Hospital, a favorite pastime she enjoyed until her final days.

One of the greatest blessings of Dorothy's life was the lifelong friendships she nurtured. She remained best friends with Lillie Salazar and Joyce DeWitt since kindergarten—a remarkable bond that endured through the decades. Lillie was lovingly by Dorothy's side when she peacefully passed, a testament to a friendship that lasted a lifetime.

Dorothy's love, kindness, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family will remain in the hearts of all who knew her. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will continue to live on through the many lives she touched.

Forever loved. Forever remembered. Forever in our hearts.

Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 2525 Palo Alto Rd, San Antonio, TX 78211, on August 15, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM.

Services will conclude at the funeral home.
