Dorothy Hudnall Ray, 98, passed peacefully on Sunday, July 31, 2022 in her home in San Antonio, Texas surrounded by family. She was born September 27, 1923 in Tyler, Texas to the late William R. and Fones Oden Hudnall.
Dorothy graduated from Tyler High School and attended classes for Business Law and Real Estate in Tyler and Dallas. She was a real estate agent in Dallas for many years before moving back to Tyler in 1967 where she continued to pursue her career.
While living in Tyler, Dorothy was a member for many years at First Baptist Church, of which her great grandparents were founders, before moving their membership to Green Acres Baptist Church. In 2004, Dorothy and her husband, Floyd Ray, moved to Austin to be closer to family. While living in Austin, they attended Riverbend Church. In 2011, after Floyds passing, she moved to San Antonio, Texas, where she was a member of Community Bible Church.
Dorothy, otherwise known to most as "Mimi", will be remembered as business savvy, witty, funny, some might say "spunky" or a "firecracker," but all would say she was a loving and fiercely loyal person who was extremely passionate about her family. Some of her last words were "Make sure they all know how much I love them."
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Ray in 2010; parents, William and Fones Hudnall; sisters Helen Rassman and Sara Wallis, and brothers, Will Hudnall and Jack Hudnall.
She is survived by her loving family including daughter and son-in-law, Debi and Lisle Ford of Austin; son, Terry Ray of Austin; grandsons, Randy and Curtis Stringer; granddaughters, Courtney Stringer, Stephanie Fishel and Sabre Stringer; great-grandchildren, Brenan, Rhiannan, Easton, Brady, Charli Jo, Marley and Chloe; great-great-grandchild, Declan and many more cousins, nieces and nephews!
