Dorothy Jean Stevens

Dorothy Jean Stevens Mrs. Carl G. greeted her Lord and Savior on Sunday morning, May 30. She was born in Old Hickory, TN, on January 7, 1926, to Ray and Irene Stinson. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother Willard.

She is survived by her husband Carl, nieces Debbie McKinnon of Castle Rock, CO, Jeannie Heller of Franklin, TN, and nephew Steve Stinson of Signal Mountain, TN, and their families.

Jean graduated from Blue Mountain College in Blue Mountain, MS, and received a Masters Degree in Library Science at Our Lady of the Lake.

She married Carl on November 27, 1948. During their 61 years of marriage they lived in Nashville, TN, San Antonio, TX, Columbus, OH, Houston, TX, and two years ago moved to their current residence at Menger Springs in Boerne.

Jean was a school teacher, proprietor, school librarian, and served on five church staffs. She was beautiful, a gentle spirit, and constantly seeking ways to serve others.

She was a fabulous cook which led to the publication of a world class cookbook. She enjoyed traveling to 66 countries.

She will be greatly missed by her family and a host of friends.
