Dorothy Mae West

Dorothy Mae West, 82, of Somerset, TX passed from this earth, Saturday, March 16, 2024 in San Antonio, TX. Dorothy was born May 10, 1941 in Hallettsville, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Vlasta Gajer, and sister, Sylvia Kocian. Dorothy leaves to cherish her memory her children, Ronald Miller (Patty), Delbert West Jr., and Cindy Robertson (Jim); 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and multiple nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She lived in Somerset, TX in the same home for the last 46 years. Dorothy worked as a Door Greeter at Walmart in Pleasanton, TX and retired in 2012 after 18 years. She loved gardening, crafting, sewing, cooking, and baking. She could make anything grow with her green thumb and made the best fried ribs and greasy taters. She loved greatly and was greatly loved. Her legacy of love, warmth, and dedication will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her, ensuring her spirit remains forever present in their lives.

Dorothy’s request was to not have a service. She loved flowers and hummingbirds so all who wish to honor her life are invited to hang a hummingbird feeder or plant a flower at their home.
