Doug D. Montey

Douglas D. Montey, age 59, passed away December 19, 2018, after a year long fight with Pancreatic Cancer. He was surrounded by family in San Antonio, TX. Born April 24, 1959 in Warner Robins, GA. to Dayle and Darlene Montey. Raised in Red Wing MN, attended Red Wing Central High School. Later his family moved to Waco TX where he attended Waco High School. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his father, brother Wade C. Montey and nephew Jason D. Montey. He is survived by his mother, his loving wife of 19 years Betty Jo, his children Autumn (Jonathan) Henneke, Justin Flores, Alexis Flores and Nicklaus Montey, his grandchildren Grant Henneke, Brooke Henneke, Avery Montey and Douglas Montey Jr., brother Dean (Deb) Montey, sisters Joni (Kevin) Carter and Julie Montey, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Doug has been a proud business owner of A Perfect Pool in San Antonio since 1999. He loved the coast and made visits as much as possible. He enjoyed golfing and was a proficient bowler. At one time, he was a TCCRA racer. Doug always had a knack for finding humor in all things and making people laugh. In his spare time he enjoyed renovating his home and his business offices. Mostly he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Services are being held under the direction of Sunset Memorial Park and Funeral Home in San Antonio, TX on Friday, December 28, 2018. Visitation will be held from 11 to 1 pm and Funeral Service at 1 pm at Sunset Funeral Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to The Children's Bereavement Center of South Texas.
