

He was born in Manhattan, New York on April 5, 1953, to Douglas and Fredda Blessing.
Doug moved to San Antonio as a child, attended Edison High School and San Antonio College earning a degree in business.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard Aviation, where he received numerous commendations.
After working in the food and beverage business, oil industry and the swimming pool business, he founded Carefree Exteriors, Inc. in 1985, where he remained the President.
Doug loved his family, friends, home, business and surf fishing. His business associates became his friends.
He was a caring man full of courage, integrity and life.
Doug is survived by his loving wife, Betty Lynn Blessing; daughter, Jennifer Laureen Kelleher; brother, Robert Blessing; sister, Joelle Bo and husband Andrew; step-children, Michelle Hatton and Micah Teich. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jonathan, Jessica, Jared, Jordan and Joanna Entler, Mason and Chase Hatton.
The family would like to thank Dr. Sharon Wilks, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and Northeast Baptist Hospital Outpatient Surgery Staff for their treatment, compassion and ongoing support.
Also a special "thanks" to all of the participants of the many blood drives across Texas.
