We would like to share our sympathy in Doug's passing. He was a wonderful man I shared Assistant Scout Leadership with for years.

Daddy where are you? Im sitting by the door waiting to be let in. Im ready for bed. Oh your not comming back, thats o.k. i understand why. ill take care of mom and momo, ill keep them nice and warm in bed and try to keep the barking down to a minimal. Well daddy dog im going to miss all those nights we spent sleeping togeter especialy those aswome belly rubs. but the thing ill miss the most is you, you always got up to let me out no matter how you felt and you always would make sure my bowl was full. i gust what im trying to say is i love you daddydog and will count the days till next time we are able to sleep in together. your fury little bed buddie,

I am so sad to hear about Dougs passing. I know that he was ill for a long time. I know that he is no longer in pain but I am sad to see him go. He was my sons Boy Scout Leader and was a great man. Rest in Peace Doug.

I DONT REALLY KNOW WHAT TO SAY ABOUT MY DAD THAT PEOPLE HAVENT ALREADY SAID BUT TO ME HE WAS SOMEONE THAT WAS THERE FOR ME WHEN I NEEDED HIM NO MATTER WHAT, AND KNEW WHAT TO SAY AND WHAT TO DO KNOW MATTER WHAT THE PROB WAS. WHEN MY PAW PAW DIED MY DAD WAS THE ONE THAT GAVE THE STRENGTH TO BE THERE FOR MY FAMILY AND I THANK HIM FOR THAT. EVERYONE SAYS THAT I AM JUST LIKE MY DAD IN MANY WAYS AND FOR ALONG TIME I DINT THINK I WAS BUT THE MORE I LOOK BACK ON MY LIFE THE MORE I REALIZE THAT I AM LIKE HIM IN THE FACT THAT MY FAMILY IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO ME AND I TRY TO BE THE BEST MAN I CAN ,WICH IS WHAT I KNOW HE WOULD WANT HIS SON'S TO BE. I WILL DO MY BEST DAD AND WHEN I NEED STRENGTH I WILL LOOK UP FOR YOU TO GIVE ME A SIGN THAT YOU ARE STILL HERE FOR ME . I KNOW YOU WILL BE WATCHING THE COWBOYS EVERY SUNDAY WITH ME SO LETS HOPE THEY BULL THERE HEAD OUT OF THERE A.. AND START WINNING . I LOVE YOU POP AND WILL MISS YOU ALLWAYS .

My DAD Doug what to say about my dad, so much to say. If you knew my dad at all you know that he loved his family more than anything in the world. He always made sure we had everything weather it was cloths and aroof over our head our just five bucks for lunch at school. my dad always said sorry doesnt get it done. i always that that was funny, but looking back he was right. My dad was my biggest hero to me he was just like superman anything threwn at him he over came. I will miss him so much i wish i had more time with him. promise to keep the grass cut dad. i guess the biggest memorie i have of him would be you would think boy scouts but would be when he let shot my first deer. when i pulled the trigger and he saw the deer go down that face expression i will never forget. ear to ear grin laughing say great job it was just one of those things you will never forget. it was just me and him. dad would tell us " im not superman you know" but too us dad in our eyes you were, no ARE SUPERMAN and will always remain superman in our eyes and especially are hearts. i love you dad Gaby says hello papa

Doug was very good friend and a wonderful person he will be missed. You and your family will be our prayers. Stay strong and just know that he is in a better place and he is not suffering anymore. He is with my mom and the angels looking down.

To my DADDY,i wake up every morning and see your chair and wonder when your coming home,i still take you out a cup for coffee and your huge tub of creamer too,i will never be able to pass a pair of velcrow shoes and not think of you, this is so hard i dont know how we are going to live again but i know you will help us....my daddy was my best friend, i was his little m&m and squirt, he taught me everything in life from how to shoot a gun,gut a deer and even carry a 50 pound bag of corn up the hill..everyone knows we were undseperable, where ever my dad was i was there to whether it was watching the footbal game with him,going hunting,grocery shopping or eating bannana splits every sunday at dairy queen..what my dad taught me the most was how to respect others and the value of a dollar...growing up we didnt have a lot of money but we didnt care cause we had the best memories from swimming in my kiddie pool,Putting clips in his hair when i was little, camping at the deer lease, laying in his arms watching football or just playing cards....my daddy knows the best that im not very good with showing my emotions or words but he was truly my best friend and still is, the relationship and connection i had with my dad was un explainable i would say because we were together all the time but my brothers would say cause he spoiled me rotten it was probably both i know im leaving out so much but the type of dad my daddy was u can never explain..i know hes looking down on us wondering why were all crying and so down in his words he would say "dry up them tears and lets get the ball rollin" 
I Love You so much daddy and will miss you more then anything..

I am so sorry to hear of Doug's passing, he was a great asset for Pack 375 when my son Billy was in Cub Scouts.....he was a wonderful person, I have nothing but good memories of Doug....

To my POPS whom i am going to miss a whole lot. Not only a DAD but a man who taught me the meaning of life. Also he was my hunting buddy, we lived for opening day of deer season. I think even more than football. He taught me so much for the time he was here. Like to hunt, the meaning of a dollar, work hard, play hard, be a dad, good husband, most of all how to treat people. Also how to help people, when they needed it and not to expect anything in return for it. There are probably somethings i am leaving out. 
Most of all he taught me how to make people laugh. Either with a good joke or maybe just a silly gesture. Dad also showed me how to scare people. Which most of time we got a good laugh out of it together. All i knew now is that my pops/hunting buddy is looking down upon us now. I know he would want all of us to be cutting up with each other, telling jokes and making each other laugh. Im going to miss you, but one day i will see you again in heaven were the deer are running wild. Until then pops I LOVE YOU SO MUCH that words can not describe my feelings or what you have taught me in the meaning of being a man. I LOVE YOU DADDYDOG GONNA MISS YOU.

I considered Doug a good friend because every time SWBC needed services, he and Bobby could always be counted on. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this challening time. Sorry that I can not make the visitation or services because I will be out of town, but my thoughts will be with the family.

We first met Doug 15 years ago when he coached a Little League team that included his son, Brandon, and our son, Gabriel McLemore. Brandon and Gabriel became and remain the best of friends, and Gabriel followed Brandon into Scouts, where Doug was the scoutmaster and a leader for years. Over countless games, meetings and preparations for camping trips, we learned that Doug was not just a family man, not just a Vietnam veteran, not just a coach or a Scout leader, but a determined man with principles. He was a man dedicated to making young lives better, and he succeeded. I can see Doug even now, striding about with cigarette in hand, giving encouragement and direction in his big, booming voice. We still remember him fondly as the coach whose team didn't win a single game, but whose every player had equal turns at bat, who all learned to finish what they started as they learned sportsmanship and still had fun. They were all winners to Doug. He was the winner to us. Rest in peace, old friend. Ginny Messec
