

Doug was born on July 8, 1928 in Cleveland, OH.
Raised in a military family, he spent his childhood years in several cities, but ended up in San Antonio.
After graduating from Alamo Heights High school, Doug spent 2-years in the Navy.
He received his Architectural Engineering degree from The University of Texas where he was a member of the Kappa Alpha fraternity.
For most of Doug's professional career, he was a partner in the architectural firm of Bennett, Carnahan & Hearn in Waco, TX.
He was also active in the Waco Rotary International and was a Jr. Warden and member of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit.
For the last several years, after moving back to San Antonio, Doug worked as a project architect for Chesney-Morales & Associates, Inc.
Doug was an active participant in both the local and state level of the American Institute of Architects.
He served on the Waco Plumbing Board, Airport Board and the Advisory Planning Board.
Doug will be remembered for his love of many interests including golf, tennis, flying, fishing, hunting, skiing, computers, and foreign sports cars.
Most of all, Doug will be remembered for his loving kindness and respect for all.
Doug is survived by is wife of 51 years, Betty Rae Hearn; son, Doug Hearn, Jr. and his wife, Laura of Corpus Christi, TX; son, Tom Hearn and his wife, Valerie of Boerne, TX; daughter, Cathy Fuller and her husband, Bob of San Antonio, TX; son, John Hearn and his wife, LaVonne of Belton, TX; and son, Jim Hearn and his wife, Susi of Keller, TX; 9 grandchildren ages 4-21, nieces, nephews and extended family.
