He was 52 years old. Doug was the third of six children of Juanita and Leon "Tex" Taylor, longtime San Antonio residents.
Born June 7, 1951, Doug became famous amongst family and friends for his outgoing personality, quick wit, and incredible sense of humor. He had a gift finding the humor and irony in even the most unpleasant situations.
He loved life and lived it with passion.
Forever the optimist, the cup was always half full, not empty, and he was a master at making even the slightest stranger feel welcomed and at ease.
Doug lit up the room with his genuine smile, a smile he passed on to his two children, Andy and Molly.
While growing up in San Antonio he attended Woodridge Elementary and graduated from Alamo Heights High School.
He also was a graduate of Trinity University in San Antonio where his father served as a Vice President for more than 40 years.
In the early 70's Doug served in the United States Coast Guard Reserves.
His professional career, which spanned nearly 30 years, was spent in sales and securities.
He taught a class at UCLA and was voted "Best Liked" by his students.
Doug was preceded in death by his father and is survived by his wife Cathy, son Andy, and daughter Molly of La Canada, California, mother Juanita Taylor of San Antonio, brothers Jim and Tom of San Antonio, Joe of Kerrville, Andy of Houston, sister Susie of New Orleans, their spouses, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Doug is now safe with our Lord and will always be loved and sorely missed by his family and friends.
