She graduated from New Mexico University and enlisted in the Army Air Corps as an Air Force cryptologist. She met Bob Karkosky in the service and they were married May 12, 1952.
She was an accomplished oil paint artist and a devote Christian and these are some of her thoughts to share with us. Thoughts by Dee... "I am a blessed citizen of a kingdom without end. I have a Brother who is the King and I am an heir with Him. His rule is wise and His counsel is always true. He is never condescending and always gracious in His answers to my petitions. His eyes are upon me and cries when I cry. He loves me with a love that never reminds me of my wrong, but cheers when I please our Father. He knows our Father's heart and longs for me to know it too. For when our Father calls us, He runs with my hand in His. My Brothers name is Jesus and when our Father sent Him to us, He was without spot or blemish because our Father knew that He was needed to bring us to a Holy God. It happened oh so long ago, but is as fresh and new as each dawn was new when time was established and ordained by God. It is wonderful in this Kingdom where love is without end and joy is only in His presence within ABBA's ample Arms!"
She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Dee Layne Karkosky.
Dee is survived by her husband of 68 years, Robert G. Karkosky; 2 sons, Robert W. Karkosky and his wife Francis Karkosky and Steven L. Karkosky and his wife Betty E. Karkosky; 2 daughters, Kathy Gayle Welch and Nyla Lurlene Karkosky.
