Doyle was born on February 11, 1934, in Childress, Texas to Rory and Leola Stamps.
Doyle lived a life marked by adventure, dedication, and deep love for his family. He was a proud graduate of Texas Tech University — always quick with a hearty “Guns Up!” After graduation, Doyle went on to build a distinguished dual career. He dedicated over 30 years to State Farm Insurance and served his country with honor as a Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve.
Doyle married the love of his life, Dorothlyn Stamps, with whom he shared seven decades of devotion, partnership, and joy. Together, they raised three sons —Tim, Greg, and Tom, instilling in them the same values of integrity, curiosity, and perseverance that defined Doyle’s life.
Passionate about the outdoors, Doyle was an avid sportsman and traveler who loved skeet shooting, hunting, and fishing. His far-flung adventures took him to every continent except Antarctica, with highlights including fishing trips with friends and family in northern Canada, a photo safari across Africa, and an unforgettable RV caravan to Alaska. Whether cruising the open seas, exploring exotic ports of call, or hunting and fishing across North America, Doyle embraced exploration and travel with boundless enthusiasm.
He is survived by his wife Dorothlyn; Tim and wife Monica, Greg and wife Lynne, Tom; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. His legacy of love, leadership, and adventure will continue to inspire all who knew him.
From humble beginnings, Doyle achieved remarkable success and touched many lives along the way. He will be remembered as a dedicated family man, a proud Texan, and a role model to all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will forever be cherished, and he will be missed dearly.
