Dr. Felipe Perez-Rodriguez

Dr. Felipe Perez-Rodriguez, of Vieques, Puerto Rico passed away on September 21, 2023. He is preceded by his wife of 47 years, Rosamaria G. Perez, and his sister Juanita Davila-Perez. Dr. Perez is survived by his four children: Angel Ernesto Perez, Vera Evangelina Perez, Rosa Maria Perez, and Maria Rosa Perez. and his siblings Ángel Luis Perez, Bernabe Perez, Nolon Perez, Eva Luz Landero-Perez, and his many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

Dr. Perez-Rodriguez was in the Air Force and Army where he served in combat as a physician and soldier. He worked as an Internal Medicine doctor for the VA for over 36 years. He was loved by everyone who knew him and his patients absolutely adored him.

Dr. Perez-Rodriguez was an outstanding father, a loyal and loving husband, a phenomenal doctor & surgeon, and a giving humanitarian. He always helped those less fortunate and would place himself second to others. His marriage to our mother was a depiction of the unique love one only can witness in movies. A humble man from a tiny island in Puerto Rico moves to Mexico to do his residency and in the process meets his soul mate and falls in love. It was always wonderful hearing stories about how they met and the letters they wrote each other during his time away.

Our father was a warrior and a beacon of hope for what we all should aspire to be. He lived every day to its fullest & showed us the true meaning of strength. He will be missed dearly. Dad, we know that you are dancing in heaven with Mom. The time and legacy you and mom left will never be forgotten. Please give mom a big hug from us. We love you!

The family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Saint Jude Children’s Hospital, or American Cancer Society, in lieu of flowers.
