

Dwayne Simpson, 46 years of age, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2017 at the Audie L. Murphy Memorial VA Hospital. Dwayne was born on February 1, 1970 in Channelview, Texas to parents, Joe and Linda. He grew up in Jourdanton, Texas with his younger brother, Jason.
Dwayne was married to his wife Kristi in 2000, and they have one son, Kaden. Dwayne had one daughter, Michelle, from his previous marriage. Dwayne was a regional manager of an auto auction company and was also a licensed auctioneer. He served for 5 years in the U.S. Navy where he worked on airplanes.
Dwayne enjoyed outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, and rock-climbing. In his spare time, he trained for triathlons. Dwayne competed in several triathlons where he got to test his endurance. Dwayne was an avid football fan, always cheering for his favorite team, the Pittsburg Steelers.
Dwayne was outgoing and friendly and enjoyed meeting new people. He was a man of faith and enjoyed attending Community Bible Church where he and his wife were members. Dwayne will be missed by family, friends, and all who knew him.
A memorial service and reception honoring Dwayne Simpson will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway
