Eddie A. Valicek

He was born in February of 1924 in San Antonio, Texas to Ed and Mary Olsovsky Valicek.

Eddie joined the Army Air Corps at the age of eighteen. Upon his honorable medical discharge, he went to work for Western Electric where he met his future wife on a blind date. They were married on August 25, 1951 at the Wilson Chapel of First Baptist Church in San Antonio, Texas.

He worked at Kelly Air Force Base from 1950 until his retirement in 1986. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, home and auto repair.

Eddie was a lifelong resident of San Antonio.

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ida Kilday; brother, Vincent Valicek, and baby sister, Velma.

Eddie is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Bobbie Wise Valicek; son, Michael David Valicek; daughter, Teri Lynn Carruthers; three beloved grandchildren, Kourtney Michelle Carruthers, Evan Michael Valicek, Mason Edward Valicek, and his sister, Valera Valicek.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
